How to create & manage a profitable website

Many people think that making profitable websites is similar to gambling a Vegas Casino, either you are lucky and Win or you loose. Depending on the amount you put into your business the amount you loose could be very substantial. But their is more to the process than luck. If you study the similarity and differences that internet business have you will see a familiar ecommerce store with a title product photo, small description, and of course the price. One of the major flaws in this system is information. Even if someone is interested in your item they will navigate away from your site just to find information. I suggest that in addition the the typical eStore you also make information very accessible. You may wonder what type of information could be useful? The answer is limitless. For example if you are selling a hat you may want to give the dimensions, and even compare the color to an object like a flower. You may also want to incorporate the item with a personal touch, one way of doing this is connecting the product to a emotion, you may state "this hat is almost identical to the had Will Smith wore in September 04 when he visited the Bahamas." (Naturally you need to have correct information) This gives your customer a feeling of warmth and desire to purchase the product not just because they like the product but because you were able to connect them to the product on a personal level. I like to give the example from ebay of a worthless stuffed animal that probably cost $0.50 at a thrift store that sold for $192.50. Getting visitors to visit your website can be done hundreds of ways. I have personally tested many of these methods with several different sites and with different content. The result are somewhat shocking.

How is the internet structured?

Grocery stores and department stores are designed in a very similar way to one another. The idea is to push or force the shopper past certain items. The internets main intelligence comes from search engines. As they try to archive all of the information about your site and make it quickly accessible to others. This process unfortunately has many flaws that leave out much of your important information, while allowing less relevant sites to find their way above you in search engines. The internet works because of links. What are Blogs and can they increase traffic and or sales?

Blogs create interaction between internet users. Similar to a forum a blog will allow users to respond and add comments to a certain subject. A typical forum will have a question and members will give feedback on the question with additional questions or answers. Blogs on the other hand are more like online diaries. The person who posts the original blog can share stories, articles, questions, and ideas with the world. They leave themselves vulnerable to feedback from other users. This is were true interaction among people on the internet begins to take place. If you have a blog available on your website you allow your visitors to talk about anything but guiding them towards the topics on your site. For example if you have a automotive repair website your visitors and bloggers will primarily consist of gear-heads and curious visitors with auto questions.
Why is this so important? The amazing results that Blogs introduce is a sense of community to you visitors. This brings people back time and time again to your site, and it also allows members of this community to use word of mouth advertising to their friends and associates. Blogs are not a necessity to your website but they can increase traffic tremendously.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

How do you become #1 on yahoo or google websites? If I had a penny for every time I was asked this question I could pay off the national debt. The answer unfortunately is not as simple to achieve as you may want. Search engines on average bring 80% of all true visitors to websites. With over 900,000 search engines only 20 of the top search engines bring 98% of all search engine traffic. I know that's a lot of numbers but in simpler words If you index your website with yahoo, alexa, google and a few others you have about the same odds of being discovered as submitting your site to all 900,000 search engines.
Search engine in general use three methods to rank you.
1. How many other websites link to you, and what is the ranking of the sites.
2. How much traffic does your site currently receive.
3. Metta Tags, this includes your title, page description, and keywords.
Now here is the latest development that is starting to catch on among Search Engines - CONTENT
Having lots content on your website helps greatly, especially when words you have in your Metta Tags can be found through out your website. Currently the average search engines only search that first 200 characters and that last 200 characters on your site for content due to the web crawler speeds but with new programs and improvements this is about to change dramatically the way your site is ranked and found on the World Wide Web.

Using Offline advertising to promote Online companies

Advertising in local newspapers, Billboards, Radio, Television, Postcards, business cards, signs, vehicle advertising, ads in magazines, and posters are some ways to advertise. Naturally I could list many more offline advertising methods but I will spare you from the agony. The reality is that each and every business is accepted with separate results in each way and a lot has to do with where you target your ads geographically. I can not guide you towards or against any of these styles however I will say, If you have found a offline medium for advertising that works for your organization that by all means continue and simply add your URL to the ad.

Getting actual people to find your website

This might sound easier than it really is, with over 53 million internet users with different cultures, beliefs and backgrounds how hard could it be to get visitors? Some are Black, White, Asian, and Indian. Some are fat or skinny, while others are Rich or poor. The lesson any webmaster must know: The internet does not discriminate against users but the methods that we use to find websites is a very bias system. Allow me to explain. First as you most likely know the World Wide Web is messy, with huge amounts of websites and data overwhelming even the most complex minds. Websites give a unique scene of balance to portray who you are or the products you sell. It's almost as if we try to duplicate websites that are successful but at the same time have tried so hard to be different from the next persons website that we have lost our true identity. Once you decide what image or ideology you want your site to portray then you are ready to continue into the stage of content and advertising.

This website produces several thousand actual visitors per day and has been steadily growing so how do I do this? It's not magic, but instead a very well calculated idea and promotional structure. It seems that almost everyone has a friend or knows of someone who has made it rich on the internet without any effort and that is great, but it's also not planned. So first and foremost I will once again suggest that you realize your website is an extension of your company and should be treated with care and well thought out research.

Do turnkey sites actually work?

This is a difficult thing to answer but it is, Yes and No.
Presentation is 90% of anything you do. If you enjoy the layout and design of the site you are visiting then you will most likely purchase something if it's a product or service that interest you and is affordable. I have watched people sell dirty socks through online auctions so I am confident that anything can be sold. But it is 90% presentation. Mini-sites have become very popular mostly for eBooks and software. Does this method work with turnkey sites? Actually through the polls and studies that I have researched they all suggest yes it works but only to a certain type of buyer. Be sure that before you go into any internet business that you first and foremost do your research on your targeted demographical area, and know your product and or service well.
